What will it take for a dragon prince to defy his father and fly on his own?
Prince Jules, the least favorite of the Dragon King's children, lives simply, banished to his rooms and the amazing adventures found in his books. He has never left the palace or shifted into his dragon form…he's never done anything.
Dragon shifter Lem is assigned to Jules as the prince's new bodyguard, and is determined to keep Jules safe from the Graithen, who killed the prince’s previous guardian. Lem grows to hate how the King hides Jules away, and longs to show him how to fly. His love for Jules also grows but it is forbidden, like so much in Jules' life.
When the Graithen attack again, though, everything changes.

Healing Fire edition by Sean Michael Romance eBooks Reviews
This was a very light hearted romance. I found this story to be a quick read, it showed magic and love between a dragon-shift and how they balance each other and the problems they face. This was a very sweet book.

I was lucky enough to get a free copy of this book for an honest Review.
I found a bit slow and boring at the beginning but got into it after the second chapter and must say I have enjoyed reading it. I am still not sure I like the M/M to read but the story line is really quite good.
I have felt for the Jules and Lem the whole way through the book. And of course I like Dragons, which probably made the story for me. It's a nice book to read if you never read a M/M.
I'm going to give it 3.5 stars

The writing of Mr. Michael is entertaining and the characters in his world are vivid. I found Lem to be the best of them all because though Jules had the power Lem had the strength for both. The colors of the dragons sound amazing and make the reader wish to be a part of a time where dragons run free. I enjoyed the writing of Mr. Michael and the characters within the pages of Healing Fire.

Prince Jules has lived most of his life sequestered in his rooms away from everyone else. Rarely does he see his siblings and his father the Dragon King. Keeping Jules company are his books and his faithful guardian Mabon. Everything is about to change when the Graithen attack and Mabon is killed resulting in Jules acquiring a new bodyguard Lem.
Sean Michael’s Healing Fire centers on dragon shifters and how Jules and Lem’s love affair began and blossomed.
The writing was well done. For the most part, the sentences were simply written and there was nothing wrong about that. However, considering the book’s content and its intended audience , I find that the words employed were too simple for my taste. It was this manner of presentation that I found a little awkward. It was as if Jules’ and Lem’s story was being told to young children at bedtime. This was the impression I got while reading the book. I wish the “attack” were different and that the author would have chosen a more mature and suitable vocabulary.
The intimate scenes were smoldering though. Lem and Jules were insatiable and very much in love with each other. I liked how Lem was faithful to his duties as a guardian and how he never failed in his promises to Jules. As for Jules, I also liked how he broke free from his innocence and learned the ways of the world with Lem guiding him all throughout.
It was only in the last section of the story that the reader gets to learn the whole history of why Jules was kept away, who he really was, why the Graithen wanted him and what he was capable of. I thought the latter was critical and I wish it were given more coverage.
Overall, I liked the book. It was about dragons after all and these winged creatures have always fascinated me. Reading about them in an erotic fantasy kept that fascination alive and burning for more.

There were lots of problems with this novel and it hugely disappointed me. The first and completely icky thing about the book was how much like a child Jules was. I actually thought that he WAS a child as the story opens, like a flashback, only to find that he was a grown man. He is presented as liking to sit in his guard's lap and read. A grown man, sitting in another man's lap in a non-sexual way. What? He is also infantilized in other ways. He speaks like a child and is often petulant or full of toddler-like wonder. This made the later sexual relationship with Lem (by which time he hasn't matured at all--in fact he never really does) seem really gross. Add to this the fact that the story is very repetitious, following a pattern of one paragraph of exposition followed by a long scene of sex. The story is really erotica with about a short stories worth of other content. The language/writing was also very stunted. Michaels uses a lot of one word or very short sentences in many of her works to convey emotion or put the reader more inside the thoughts/feelings of a person. I usually like this in her works but it was taken to extremes here and then the same words/phrases got used over and over again. Here is some dialog from sex "Good. Good. Us. Good." They wind up saying "Yours" and "Mine" to each other ALL THE TIME. It was maddening. It was a shame because there was an interesting story and mystery buried in there. I just couldn't stick it out even though I got close to the end. It was just too irritating. I hate this because I truly love the author's other works.
good solid story
There is no substance in this book, it's o simplistic it comes off as boring.
I really enjoyed this book. It started out in sadness, and the 2 main characters slowly found their happiness together. I enjoyed the magic of the dragons and the storyline. This is a great m/m story!
